Daniel was born in the home counties and moved to the Southwest as a young child. Daniel lives with his wife, Nataliya, his three children and 2 dogs. Outside of work Daniel enjoys time with the family, holidays, golf and reading.
Work Life
Daniel joined the industry in 1994 with Prudential. In 2007 Daniel set up Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd and is qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner.

Daniel has been to the Highest and Lowest Bars in the world.
Clive Ribbons

Home Life
Clive was born in Bath and moved to the Southwest as a young child. Clive lives with his partner Nicki and two sons. Outside of work Clive loves to spend time with his family camping in Cornwall and France. Clive is also a keen skier and cyclist.
Work Life
Clive joined Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd in 2008 and became a director of the company a couple of years later. Clive has worked in financial services for 33 years.

Clive has skied at over 100km an hour.
Darren Courtnell

Home Life
Darren was born in Plymouth and now lives in Yelverton. Darren lives with his wife, Karen, and their youngest son. Outside of work Darren enjoys playing tennis for his local Yelverton Club, mountain biking and walking on Dartmoor.
Work Life
Darren’s financial career commenced in 1989 when he joined Barclays Bank and from 2003, he moved over to Barclays Financial Planning as an adviser. In 2010 Darren left Barclays to join Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd and has since qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner.

Darren is a collector of retro gaming consoles from the 80’s and 90’s and owns over 40.
Bob Burch

Devon born and bred, Bob, Kate & their three daughters moved from Ashburton to Liverton in 2020. When not working, Bob enjoys spending time with the family and their two young Dachshunds.
Work Life
Bob started working in financial services at 16 and has now been an Independent Financial Advisor for 20 years, achieving the coveted Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society qualifications.
Quirky Fact
Bob no longer must have his shirts in colour coordinated sections. Obviously, the shirts and hangers still all face the same way but, hey, one step at a time.
Gary Tromans

Gary was born in Tavistock and has remained in the Dartmoor area with his family. Gary enjoys spending time with family and friends, his interests include walking, cycling, the gym, motorsport and following his son playing various sports. Gary loves to travel and enjoying adventures in his motorhome.
Work Life
Gary started his banking and financial advice career by joining Barclays in 1988. In 2010 Gary decided to move into the independent financial advice field and joined Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd.
Quirky Fact
Gary jumped out of a plane at nearly 20,000 feet over the Nevada desert, thankfully in tandem with an instructor.
Tony Earl

Home Life
Tony has moved around the Southwest of England and ended up Plymouth in 1989. Tony lives with his wife, Sarah and his 2 teenage daughters. Outside of work Tony enjoys cycling, kickboxing, Ju Jitsu, spending time with friends and looking after his large garden.
Work Life
Having been involved in various forms of finance, Tony took his qualifications and joined the industry in 2006 with Barclays. In 2011 he joined Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd.

Tony has followed his sister around the world with holidays in Singapore, Ethiopia (3 times) Tanzania, Barbados, Israel and finally York.
John Hurson

Home Life
John was born and raised in Sidmouth, Devon. He’s married to Adi and has two beautiful daughters and two dogs. Outside of work John enjoys spending time with his family, when he’s not busy volunteering at his local rugby club in Sidmouth, where John manages the women’s team. He also loves a city break and is working his way around European capitals.
Work Life
John joined the industry in 2005, completing his apprenticeship with Barclays Bank before moving to Santander and then Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd in 2013. John has won various industry awards throughout his career.
Quirky Fact
Went for a swim when the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami hit him and his wife on their honeymoon!! Didn’t realise the seriousness of the situation.
James Barkell

James was born in Weymouth but moved to Plymouth before starting school, as his parents returned home to the city. James lives with his partner, Keira and their 4 boys. Outside of work James enjoys watching his boys play football, cycling, running and walking his two dogs.

James joined the industry in 2001 with Lloyds. In 2015 James joined Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd as an Independent Financial Adviser.

James has travelled at the speed of sound having flown on Concorde. James has also climbed all three highest mountains in the UK in under 24 hours.
Mark Davies

Home Life
Mark was born in London, but soon moved to the west country and has lived here ever since. He lives with Alison, his partner, and Clyde the springer Spaniel. When not working he enjoys walking, cycling, running and sailing.
Work Life
Mark has worked as a Financial adviser since 1992, starting with Equity and Law, and joined Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd in 2015.

Mark sailed a 40ft yacht across the Atlantic in 15 days.
James Matheson

Home Life
James was born in Devon where he has lived for most of his life. He lives with his partner, Sophie, and his daughter was born in 2022. James likes to exercise, cook, spend time with his family and growing his own veg.
Work Life
James joined the industry as a mortgage and protection adviser with Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd in 2022. Prior to that he had a successful career in the motor-trade as well as a background in property management. He runs a small property portfolio which he has built over time.
Quirky Fact
James once rode 1,100 miles across the whole of Vietnam on a £200 motorbike.
Cherry Hudson

Cherry lives in the charming town of Sidmouth in Devon. She has a lovely daughter, and they love spending time together. They explore new places, go for walks, relax on the beach, and take little mini breaks whenever they can. Cherry also likes the simple things in life such as watching the bees, birds and insects in a peaceful garden.

Cherry has worked in financial services for all of her career. She has been a financial advisor for both Barclays and Santander, gaining valuable experience in helping clients achieve their lifestyle and financial goals. Now, as an Independent Financial Advisor with Equitas Financial, Cherry is proud to offer truly unbiased advice, ensuring clients receive tailored, easy-to-understand advice.

Cherry has had some incredible adventures, like trekking under the Northern Lights in Iceland. She has tried exotic food in Thailand, eaten curry in India, and is looking forward to adding further to her life experiences.

Cris grew up in Somerset and has lived in South Devon since 2003. He lives with his wife in Ivybridge and outside of work enjoys running, training in the gym, holidays and reading.
Work Life
Cris started working in finance in 1996 when he joined Standard Life. He’s worked as an IFA, but now prefers the backroom work of a paraplanner which he has done since joining Equitas Financial (UK) Ltd in 2016.

Cris has appeared on TVs ‘Rugby Special’ where he was filmed being sent off. He was nine, collecting players autographs after the game.’
Kelly Lyddon

Kelly is Plymouth born and bred, and lives with her husband Steve and cat Henry. Outside of work she has a keen interest in football, snooker and loves live music and going for walks.
Work Life
Kelly worked for Charles Stanley for 16 years as an IFA Administrator before joining Equitas Financial in 2018 where she has progressed her knowledge further.

Kelly is a huge Stereophonics fan and seen them perform live 17 times.
